This week we have had visits from the UK - Mummy's friend Hilary and Mimi, our Granny.
On Sunday evening we picked up Hilary from the airport and I (Fergus) fell and grazed myself because I was running up the down escalator.
We took Hilary to her hotel then went out to dinner at a Pizza place near the beach. The Pizza was very nice and I (Fergus) has mushroom on mine.
On Monday, we tried to got to the Science museum with Hilary but it was closed so we ended up going to the Aquarium. The Aquarium was really amazing, it didn't just have sea creatures it also has frogs, lizards, chameleons and tortoises. Right at the start there was a big tank on the floor that you look into from above of blind fish with no eyes. There were also fish which had four eyes, one pair below the water and one pair above the water, called the Largescale Four-Eyes.
My (Archie) favourite part was a tunnel through the biggest tank in the aquarium with turtles and sharks. I also liked getting my picture taken in a Megladon's mouth! Another really cool bit was when we were looking into one of the tanks there was a shark that rolled all the way over.
My (Fergus) favourite part was looking into the big tank from the other side and there was a giant glass wall with lots of fish, turtles, rays and sharks.
On Monday evening, we collected Mimi from the airport. Mimi is staying on the boat with us in the spare cabin. We had dinner at "Sailors Bay" in the marina as it was quite late by the time we got back.
On Tuesday, we went to the Science Museum as it was closed the day before. One of the cool exhibits was a set of scales that weight you and tell you how much you would weight on a differet planet. There was also an exhibit with Virtual Reality goggles where you could select an animal and it looked like they were near you. There was a jet exhibit where you could sit in the cockpit.
My (Fergus) favourite exhibit was a muiscal marble run which had different courses and each different part of the course had a different sound like a woodpecker noise or chimes. There was a really cool bit that bounced the ball up into a basket.
On Wednesday I (Archie) went out with Hilary and had ice cream while Fergus had a bath in her hotel room. In the afternoon we went swimming with our friends at the yacht club.
On Thursday, we did home school at the marina in the morning while Daddy did some work on the boat. In the afternoon we drove to the village of Mogan in a valley, it had a good playground and we found a cafe to have a drink in the shade as it was very hot. Then we went to the beach which was nice and calm as it had a breakwater. The sand was just right for building big sandcastles. We ran into the sea and fell over with a splash. I (Fergus) swam all the way across to the breakwater and back with Daddy and Mimi, which was about 110 metres each way.
On Friday we did home school at the yacht club again while Daddy worked on the boat then we went to the big beach in Las Palmas again. I (Fergus) went snorkelling with my flippers, then went bodyboarding in the surf. While I was snorkelling with Daddy we saw a big shoal of fish.
Yesterday (Saturday) we went to a barbecue with Ocean Cruising Club members at a marina in the South of the island.
In the afternoon we went to the stadium in Las Palmas to watch Gran Canaria play Girona in La Liga. It was an amazing experience. Gran Canaria scored in the first half to make it 1-0, then the second half got really tenmse near the end but Gran Canaria won 1-0.
