There are a few different ways of keeping track of where Coconut is.
SKIPPERBLOGS
Firstly, there is the tracking banner on the front page of our blog. This uses various different methods to track Coconut. The position can be updated from her AIS signal when within range of a shore station, by Iridium Go, but Garmin Inreach, or by message from Telegram. Between these options, this map will usually show where we are. However, it doesn't necessarily have the most frequent updates. We therefore also have some other options:
AIS
Coconut is fitted with an AIS transponder. The primary purpose of this is to allow us to see other vessels and allow other vessels to see us. It transmits our name, length, position, course and speed. It is very helpful for collision avoidance at sea. As an additional benefit, when we are within range of a share station (usually within about 20 miles of the coast), the shore station also collects this data and makes it available. There are various websites and apps that will track vessels using AIS, for example Marine Traffic - link here:

PREDICTWIND
We use Predictwind on board for weather forecasts, routing, departure planning, etc - it's a great tool. We have a Predictwind Datahub on board - a compact router that allows us to control data usage on board and avoid nasty bills! It also provides tracking capabilities, using Starlink or Iridium. SAIL LOGGER
We also use a service called Sail Logger which uses and open source protocol called Signal K, running on our Victron Cerbo power management device, to interface with our NMEA2000 navigation data and provide a logging and tracking service. The tracking page is available here:

GARMIN INREACH
The Garmin Inreach tracking feed should update the mail Skipperblogs tracking map, but is also available here:

NO FOREIGN LAND
This is a website for connecting cruising sailors, it also includes tracking, taken from Predictwind and Garmin Inreach.
