Great effort and good preparation for the Atlantic crossing. Well done.

Hello! What a lovely long blog to catch us up on your adventures. How brilliant to catch a tuna! Did it taste as good as it looked? Ray is interested in your fishing gear as he is going to teach me to fish rivers and my only experience so far has been mackerel fishing from a boat. Your description of the weird sky & sun is very good. How far out did the effects last? I'm very glad to hear your little feathered friend regained it's strength and flew back to land. When I crossed Biscay sailing in the Tall Ships Race, we had three racing pigeons land on Golden Vanity and we named them Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. They too flew back to land in the end. Imagine the tale your little warbler will have to tell it's friends! The weather looks much nicer with you than autumnal England - lots of the Midlands got badly flooded because they had twice September's rainfall in a day!! Hope you enjoy exploring Madeira

Daddy said our fishing gear is made for fishing from a boat where you drag a lure rather than casting, so it wouldn't be good for fishing in a river. I (Archie) wasn't very keen on the Tuna - I didn't like watching Daddy killing it. Fergus liked it a lot!

This is Liz and Nigel, we met you in St Cast back in June. We love following your adventure boys. As well as keeping up with home school, you are learning so much about the places you are visiting: As well as your blog reports the photographs are superb. By the size of the tuna, we are sure it will keep you all fed for a month! Carry on enjoying your voyage, we shall continue to enjoy reading your blog.

Thank you! The Tuna wasn't huge, maybe the photo makes it look bigger. It did four nice tuna fillets for dinner that day and some sandwiches the next day. Daddy says we will probably catch bigger Tuna and maybe some Dorado on the Atlantic crossing.

Hi Boys, Please can you thank Daddy for his fishing gear explanation. It sounds like I will have to stick to learning to fish with a rod for the moment! I had a vegetarian friend come sailing with me who wouldn't eat the mackerel we caught but loved killing them with my Dad's big shackle key! What fish do you think you might catch going across the Atlantic? I saw flying fish when I came back from the Caribbean but we couldn't catch any as we were on a cruise ship!
