On Friday afternoon, after we met Emilia, we showed her all around the boat and did the safety briefings, then we had some dinner and got ready to set sail. We left Dun Laogharie and motor sailed down the coast.
By morning when we woke up we were South of Ireland, and out of sight of land. We had a rolly Atlantic swell, which was good for sailing, but we felt a bit sick when we spent to long below looking at our screens!
We saw lots of dolphins and Daddy saw a small shark. We looked it up and think it might have been a short fin mako shark. We headed for the Isles of Scilly and arrived late on Saturday night after we had gone to bed.
On Sunday morning, we woke up at anchor at St Agnes, one of the Isles of Scilly.
We visited the island on Coconut a couple of years ago on our summer holiday with our cousin Otto. We took the tender ashore, walked around the island and got an ice cream, then went back to the boat for lunch.
In the afternoon we took the body board and paddleboard to the beach.
The sand bar between St Agnes and Gugh was covered because it was high tide and there was surf crashing over the bar. We walked out to the middle of the bar with Daddy and played in the surf and currents.
After dinner, we left St Agnes, and headed for Falmouth.
There was very little wind so we motored. We each did an hour on watch with Daddy and had a midnight snack. Fergus did midnight to 1am and Archie did 1am to 2am.
We were asleep when we arrived in Falmouth about 4am. In the morning, we moved around to Mylor Yacht Harbour, where Daddy has arranged for us to do some work to the boat before we leave the UK.
