On Thursday we had a chilled day. We did home school in the morning and then we spent the afternoon at the pool. We met some more boat kids from a boat called "Imi Ola", Sophia, Theo and Eleni, that will be sailing in the ARC+ at the same time as us.
On Friday after home school and lunch, we drove to the North end of the island to visit the Cueva de los Verdes, which are magma tunnels of an extinct volcano.
It felt a bit nerve racking being inside a magma tube beacuse I kept thinking what if the volcano was to erupt! Inside the caves they have created a space where they have music concerts underground. The rock is really good for music because the shape of the drips of solidified lava and the fact that the bassalt is porous gives the space good acoustics.
Further inside the caves there was a lake that is so flat and glassy that the reflection of the cave made it look like there was a massive drop into a cave below. The guide asked someone to throw a rock into the lower cave and we had to listen to the sound it made when it hit the rock below. We were expecting to hear a crunching crack but instead we heard a splash of water and it turned out that the lake was perfectly reflecting the cave.
Inside the cave it felt nice and cool because it was about 30 degrees outside but only 20 degrees inside the cave.
On Saturday we had another day at the marina and the pool. We visited the market in the morning and we met some more sailing kids from a boat called "@C", Maxime, Quirine and Flynt, that will also be doing the ARC+.
Yesterday (Sunday) morning, we drove back to the Volcanic park and went on a camel ride. We rode in a train of camels for about 20 minutes. The camel behind us kept sniffing me and Fergus. Getting on and off the camel felt funny as the camel rocked back and forwards as it got up and sat down. Me and Fergus were on one camel, Mummy and Daddy were on the one in front. Mummy had to have a sack of sand tied to her side to balance it out because Daddy is so heavy! At the end of the camel ride we got a penny press souveneir.
After the camel ride we went to a beach at a national park nearby. We went swimming and snorkelling. We saw a few different types of fish, mostly a kid with a blue stripe down their tail. We also saw stripy fish and a flat fish.
After lunch we went to the pool again with the kids from "@C". We traded Pokemon cards with Maxime, the oldest girl, who is also into Pokemon.
