We needed to leave Tobermory on Wednesday lunchtime because there was a fleet of racing boats doing "West Highland Yachting Week" coming into Tobermory who had reserved all the berths.
We left Tobermory and motored across the Sound of Mull to Loch Sunart and up the loch to Salen. It was nice and calm, the loch was pretty with lots of trees, and we went through a narrow passage very close to the rocks. It took us a couple of hours to get there. When we arrived we walked into the village. We passed a German bakery, and went to the hotel where we had a drink and played some cards.
In the evening we had dinner and watched some of the Olympic Games highlights.
Yesterday morning we did homeschool then did a woodland walk. We walked around a little freshwater lochan and we saw a plant with hydrophobic leaves.
After lunch, we left Salen and motored back toward the entrance to Loch Sunart and went into Loch na Droma Buidhe and anchored. We got the dinghy and a paddleboard out. Fergus and Daddy went on the paddleboard while Archie and Mummy went in the tender. We explored the narrows at the end of the loch. We saw a Great Northern Diver and I (Fergus) got about 3 metres away on the paddleboard. Daddy said it was quite unusual to see a Great Northern Diver in the summer.
We explored a shallow, seaweedy area that took us through to the main part of Loch Sunart. On the way back, Archie, Mummy and Daddy towed me (Fergus) on the paddleboard, so I had my own speedboat!
When we got back, Daddy went for a swim, then we had dinner and watched Simone Biles win another Gold medal and Andy Murray's last professional tennis match.
Today is quite windy so we are staying at anchor this morning as we are nice and sheltered here.
