We finally got to the end of the essential jobs list, said our last goodbyes and left Ocean Quay for the last time in a while on Saturday afternoon.
A short motor down the western Solent in light winds brought us to Yarmouth for the night, one of our favourites. On Sunday, Ewan cleaned the boat (a job that hadn’t been done for too long amidst all the pre departure jobs!) and got through some more of the jobs list while Sarah, Archie and Fergus visited a model village. They were the specially impressed the the model village in the model of the model village in the model of the model village in the model village in the village.
An early start this morning (4.00am)
We’re now making good progress towards Alderney where we should arrive this afternoon (Monday 20th) and stay until later in the week when we head back accross the channel to South Devon, weather allowing. Motor sailing for now but fingers crossed for some fresher winds as the day evolves. It seems strange to think we probably won’t see the needles again for quite a while!
Now time for some breakfast!
